Tried this spot for happy hour the other day. I would recommend making a reservation because seats filled up fast with other reservations. I tried a number of dishes on the happy hour, but what stood out the most would be the chips with the verde salsa specifically, the fish tacos, and the churro donut. I’m not a fan of donuts, but gave it a try on national donut day (which was buy one get one free) and it was delicious. Super soft and doughy without that typical donut oily after taste. Definitely recommend grabbing that after your meal.

I went for lunch on a Wednesday so it was pretty slow, which was actually nice. Sat on the outdoor patio with plenty of space and definitely enjoyed the flavors. Food was really good and service was very nice. I would definitely like to try again for dinner and get a few other items to try.

Amazing food came out fresh and steaming hot. After I started eating I couldn’t stop till it was gone, it’s crazy someone can make food like that. The service wasn’t bad either, it felt like my glass was never empty. The workers were so kind as well truly the icing to the cake. I will be coming back whenever I’m in town again 10/10.

This was our first time here, and we absolutely enjoyed the vibe. Yesterday Happen to be the 3 year anniversary and there was a DJ and margaritas were 3.00. This made us very happy to say the least. We had a the Elote, and salsa and chips for our apps, and Baja tacos, al pastor, and a quesadilla. I was very happy with how stuffed the baja tacos were and everything was tasty, our least favorite being the salsa and chips nothing to special about it. We will definitely be back. . Gave a 4 star in service cause our server did not provide utensils or napkins, but she was busy so not a big deal.

Ma’Coco is a VIBE This spot is everything I love about East Austin—cool atmosphere, bomb food, and good energy all around. I came with a couple friends for a casual dinner and we ended up staying way longer than we planned. We kicked things off with the elote and carne asada fries (get both, trust me). The fries were loaded and super flavorful, and the corn had that perfect mix of creamy, spicy, and charred. For mains, I got the California Burrito—massive, cheesy, stuffed with carne asada and fries inside. Absolutely unreal. One of my friends got the nopal taco and loved it, and another had the fish tacos and said they were some of the best she’s had in Austin. Drinks were on point too. I had a spicy margarita that hit just right, and they’ve got a solid happy hour if you come earlier. Also the whole vibe is just super laid-back—outdoor seating, cool staff, good music. It feels like one of those places you stumble on and then immediately want to bring everyone you know. If you're looking for legit tacos, strong margs, and a solid spot to chill in East Austin, Ma’Coco is it. 10/10 coming back soon.
